Logic Board Repair & Micro-Soldering

We diagnose and repair Mac motherboards at the component level. Save hundreds compared to full board replacements at corporate stores.

Our Solder & Logic Board Process

Step 01

Apple Diagnostic Check

We run official Apple Service Diagnostics to isolate logic board power rails, component sensors, and CPU/GPU status.

Step 02

Microscopic Inspection

Using high-power stereomicroscopes, our technicians trace motherboard paths, searching for corrosion, blown capacitors, or burned diodes.

Step 03

Component-Level Repair

We perform micro-soldering to swap out microscopic chips, replace corrupt BIOS/EFI chips, or reconstruct broken circuit paths.

Step 04

Ultrasonic Cleaning

For liquid spills, we place the board in an ultrasonic tank filled with specialized cleaning solvent to scrub away corrosion hidden under chips.

Estimated Board Service Pricing

Component-level repairs are significantly more affordable than Apple's complete motherboard swaps.

Logic Board Diagnostics

Diagnostics & Service

Applied toward the final repair cost. Thorough diagnostic isolation of circuit problems.

Estimated Cost $49 - $99

Liquid Spill Board Cleanup

Diagnostics & Service

Ultrasonic board wash, corrosion removal, chip-level solder reflow, and power rail stabilization.

Estimated Cost $249 - $349

Component-Level Solder Repair

Diagnostics & Service

Micro-soldering to replace individual shorted capacitors, power ICs, backlight controllers, or ports.

Estimated Cost $299 - $449

Talk to a board technician

Most shops replace boards, but we solder them. If your Mac doesn't turn on, has liquid damage, or has a backlight failure, drop it off for diagnostics. We perform all micro-soldering locally in Anchorage.

Logic Board Service FAQs

Why is a component repair better than a board replacement? +

Corporate Apple Retail Stores do not repair motherboards; they replace the entire logic board, which often costs 60% to 80% of a new MacBook's price. By replacing only the individual failed capacitor or power chip, we resolve the issue for a fraction of the cost, keeping your original Mac running.

What should I do if I spilled water on my Mac? +

Immediately shut down the device, unplug the charger, and do not turn it back on. Do not use rice (which creates dust and accelerates corrosion). Bring the Mac to a technician immediately so we can disconnect the battery internally and wash the board before corrosion destroys the traces.

Does logic board repair recover my data? +

In most cases, yes. On newer MacBooks (2016 and newer), the storage chips are soldered to the logic board. If the board doesn't turn on, you cannot get your files. By repairing the board to a booting state, we can recover your files, saving years of data.
